Doppur — daily domino logic puzzle

Doppur ("dots") is a daily logic puzzle: place all the dominoes on the board so that every colored region meets its condition. If you know Pips from the New York Times, this is the same kind of puzzle. A new board appears every day, and it is the same for everyone.

How to play

  1. Every colored region on the board has a condition written in it.
  2. A number (say 12) means the pips in that region must add up to exactly 12.
  3. <6 means the sum must stay under 6, and >4 means it must go over 4.
  4. eins ("same") means all cells in the region carry the same number, and ólíkir ("different") means no two may match.
  5. Pick a domino, then tap two adjacent cells to place it. Tap a placed domino to take it back.
  6. A region's label turns green when its condition holds. Fill the whole board and you are done.

Do I need to know Icelandic?

No. This is one of the few Kokomo games you can play with zero Icelandic, since it runs on numbers and logic. You will pick up two words for free along the way: eins means "the same" and ólíkir means "different". Both are everyday words worth knowing.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play Doppur?
Place all the dominoes on the board so every colored region meets its condition: a target sum, an under or over limit, all pips the same, or all pips different. Tap a domino, then tap two adjacent cells to place it.
Do I need Icelandic to play Doppur?
No. Doppur is a pure logic puzzle built on numbers. The only Icelandic on the board is "eins" (same) and "ólíkir" (different).
Is there a new Doppur puzzle every day?
Yes. A new board appears daily on kokomo.is and everyone gets the same one, so you can compare times with friends.
